Summary
We are looking for a motivated and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our busy Vascular Ward team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced acute setting caring for patients with a wide range of vascular conditions, including peripheral arterial disease, diabetic foot complications, aneurysms, and post-operative vascular surgery patients.
Our ward provides high-quality specialist care within a supportive multidisciplinary environment. You will work closely with vascular surgeons, specialist nurses, physiotherapists, pharmacists, and discharge teams to deliver safe, effective, and patient-centred care.
We have a varied shift pattern of early shifts (0730-1400), late shifts (13:30-2000), long days (0730-2000), night shifts (1930-0800).
• Deliver high standards of nursing care to vascular and surgical patients
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care
• Monitor deteriorating patients and respond appropriately to acute clinical needs
• Support patients pre- and post-operatively
• Administer medications and treatments in line with NHS policies
• Work collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team
• Provide education and support to patients and relatives
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation
• Supervise and support junior staff and students where appropriat
