Purpose

TO LEAD THE DELIVERY OF BACP'S FINANCE AND PROCUREMENT SERVICES, ENSURING EFFECTIVE FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT, PROCUREMENT GOVERNANCE,

COMMERCIAL OVERSIGHT AND VALUE FOR MONEY IN SUPPORT OF ORGANISATIONAL OBJECTIVES.

WORKING CLOSELY WITH THE CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER, EXECUTIVE TEAM AND HEADS OF SERVICE, THE ROLE PROVIDES PROFESSIONAL FINANCIAL

AND COMMERCIAL EXPERTISE, CONTRIBUTING TO THE DEVELOPMENT OF BACP'S FINANCE AND PROCUREMENT STRATEGY AND TRANSLATING STRATEGIC

PRIORITIES INTO EFFECTIVE FINANCIAL, PROCUREMENT AND COMMERCIAL PLANS.

THE ROLE IS RESPONSIBLE FOR FINANCIAL PLANNING, REPORTING, GOVERNANCE, PROCUREMENT, SUPPLIER MANAGEMENT AND THE CONTINUOUS

IMPROVEMENT OF FINANCE AND PROCUREMENT SERVICES, ENSURING COMPLIANCE WITH REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS, GOOD GOVERNANCE AND BEST

PRACTICE.

Accountabilities

1. Work with the Chief Operating Officer and Executive Team to inform the development of BACP's Finance and Procurement

Strategy, translating strategic priorities into deliverable financial, procurement and commercial plans.

2. Provide professional financial and commercial advice, insight and recommendations to the Chief Operating Officer, Executive

Team and Heads of Service to support effective organisational planning, decision-making and performance management.

3. Lead, develop and inspire the Finance and Procurement team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, efficient and

customer-focused services.

4. Lead the delivery of budgeting, forecasting, financial planning and reporting processes, ensuring the organisation has

timely, accurate and meaningful financial information to support decision-making.

5. Ensure effective financial management, governance, internal controls and compliance with statutory, regulatory and audit

requirements.

6. Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of finance, procurement and commercial policies, processes, systems and

controls, ensuring they remain effective, compliant and aligned with organisational needs.

7. Oversee procurement, supplier management and commercial contracting activities, ensuring effective governance, value for

money and appropriate management of commercial and financial risks.

8. Provide financial and commercial analysis, performance information and insight to support organisational planning,

operational decision-making and continuous improvement.

9. Manage relationships with auditors, regulators, banks, insurers, professional advisers, suppliers and other external

partners, ensuring effective communication, compliance and accountability.

10. Support the delivery of organisational change and improvement initiatives by providing financial, procurement and commercial

expertise and guidance.

11. Promote sound financial management, commercial awareness and value-for-money principles through effective business partnering

and support to managers across the organisation.

Knowledge and Experience

* Proven experience in a senior finance leadership role.

* Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA or equivalent).

* Experience of contributing to the development and delivery of financial strategies, plans and objectives within a complex

organisation.

* Significant experience of financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, governance and control.

* Experience of procurement, supplier management and commercial governance.

* Experience of developing and leading high-performing teams.

* Excellent communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build credibility and provide

constructive challenge.

* Strong analytical, planning and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate organisational priorities into effective

financial and commercial plans.

* Experience of providing professional financial advice, analysis and recommendations to support organisational planning and

decision-making.

* Experience of working with auditors, professional advisers and external stakeholders, and maintaining effective governance,

compliance and risk management arrangements.
