Summary
Job Title: Logistics Operations Co-ordinator
Location: B37
Salary: £31,474 per annum (dependent on experience)
Hours: 8am - 5pm Monday - Friday (Occassional Weekend Cover)
Our client is a well-established and growing logistics business operating within the time-critical transport sector. They are looking for an experienced Operations Co-ordinator to join their busy Operations team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in transport or logistics who enjoys working in a fast-moving environment where every day is different. If you're commercially minded, thrive under pressure and enjoy delivering exceptional customer service, we'd love to hear from you.
As an Operations Co-ordinator, you'll be responsible for managing transport requests from quotation through to successful delivery, ensuring customers receive an efficient and professional service at all times.
Your responsibilities will include:
• Preparing competitive quotations for ad hoc and spot transport requests.
• Coordinating same day, next day and specialist transport movements.
• Sourcing the most suitable transport solutions through an established network of subcontractors.
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with customers and suppliers.
• Managing multiple enquiries simultaneously via telephone, email and other communication channels.
• Monitoring shipments and providing proactive updates to customers.
• Completing operational administration and ensuring documentation is accurate and compliant.
• Assisting with customs documentation where required.
• Maximising profitability while delivering the best transport solution for each customer.
Essential Skills & Experience
• Previous experience in transport, logistics or freight operations.
• Experience quoting and coordinating ad hoc or spot transport movements.
• Excellent organisational and multitasking skills.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Commercial awareness with the ability to make informed decisions.
• Good IT skills and confidence using transport management systems.
Desirable
• Knowledge of UK domestic and European road transport.
• Understanding of cargo requirements and vehicle types.
• Customs administration experience.
• Experience within the same day or time-critical transport sector.
• Automotive logistics experience.
• An additional European language.
