Summary

BBS Recruitment is an independent recruitment agency for transport and logistics sector, supplying to a variety of clients across UK.

We are currently recruiting a Senior Technical Surveyor for our client based in Somerset.

Responsibilities for Senior Technical Surveyor:

• Ensure compliance with legislation, Council policies, professional standards, and health and safety regulations.

• Assess Disabled Facilities Grant (DFG) applications, determine eligibility, undertake financial means testing, and recommend appropriate funding.

• Support clients with a range of disabilities, working closely with families, health professionals, housing providers, statutory agencies, and voluntary organisations.

• Prepare and present technical reports, coordinate multidisciplinary meetings, and provide professional advice throughout projects.

• Act as Principal Designer under CDM Regulations, managing projects from initial design through to completion, ensuring compliance with health and safety requirements.

• Produce specifications, AutoCAD drawings, schedules of work, and submit planning and building regulation applications for housing adaptations and building projects.

• Procure and manage contractors, obtain quotations, prepare project budgets, oversee tendering, and monitor costs to ensure value for money.

• Manage construction projects, carrying out site inspections, quality assurance, contract administration, dispute resolution, and approval of completed works.

• Monitor project expenditure, process purchase orders and invoices, manage property records, and ensure accurate financial and case management records.

• Review final accounts, defects, and grant payments in accordance with Council procedures.

• Maintain design guidance, promote best practice, support staff development, and contribute to service improvements within the Housing Adaptations Team.
