Summary

BBS Recruitment is an independent recruitment agency for transport and logistics sector, supplying to a variety of clients across UK.

We are currently recruiting an Electrical Engineer for our client based in Barnet.

The Electrical Engineer will provide technical expertise, design, maintenance oversight, compliance support and oversee electrical works to electrical systems across the organisation’s property portfolio.

Responsibilities for Electrical Engineer:

• Provide electrical engineering advice, design, and technical support for the local authority's managed estate.

• Produce electrical designs, feasibility studies, condition surveys, specifications, schedules of work, and defect diagnosis reports.

• Prepare and manage CAD drawings for electrical engineering projects.

• Ensure compliance with electrical regulations, statutory requirements, and industry best practice.

• Administer contracts, conduct site inspections, monitor project progress, and prepare technical reports.

• Review technical documentation, specifications, and contractor submissions to ensure quality and compliance.

• Liaise with clients, contractors, consultants, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver projects on time and within budget.

• Monitor contract performance, KPIs, expenditure, and value for money across engineering projects.

• Support the design and implementation of energy-efficient, low-carbon electrical systems, including LED lighting, smart grids, and energy storage solutions.

• Manage contractor performance, chair project meetings, and oversee the resolution of technical and contractual issues.

• Build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders, including council departments, elected members, partners, and external organisations.

• Contribute to the planning, prioritisation, and delivery of mechanical and electrical works across the managed estate.

• Lead multidisciplinary project teams, providing technical guidance and ensuring successful project delivery.

• Keep up to date with developments in electrical engineering, construction, and public sector regulations.
