Summary
The Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, repairing and welding steel components and equipment used throughout our manufacturing operation.
Key Responsibilities
- MIG welding of mild steel plate, cylinders, sections and fabricated components
-Fabricating and assembling steelwork to engineering drawings and specifications
-Flame cutting and profiling using oxy-acetylene equipment
-Drilling, tapping, grinding and preparing materials for fabrication
-Operating workshop equipment including saws, grinders, guillotines and drilling machines
-Reading and interpreting engineering drawings to manufacture and inspect components
-Carrying out repairs and modifications to plant equipment and steel structures
-Completing work within agreed timescales and quality standards
-Supporting workshop housekeeping and maintaining a safe working environment
-Assisting with general fabrication, maintenance and workshop duties as required
-Operating a counterbalance forklift truck where trained and authorised
