Deputy Room Leader (Level 3) – Tunbridge Wells – Up to £29,500

This nursery is a long-established part of the Tunbridge Wells community, caring for children from three months to five years in a setting designed to feel calm, welcoming, and purposeful. Rooms are spacious and thoughtfully organised, with direct access to extensive outdoor areas and indoor garden spaces used throughout the year.

 

Working alongside the Room Leader, you'll play a key role in maintaining high standards of care and education while helping to create a positive, nurturing environment where both children and staff can thrive.

What We're Looking For

  • Level 3 qualification in Early Years Education
  • Experience working as a Senior Nursery Practitioner, Deputy Room Leader, or similar role
  • Strong understanding of the EYFS framework
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • A nurturing and child-centred approach
  • Confidence supporting colleagues and leading by example

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Room Leader with the day-to-day running of the room
  • Deliver high-quality care and education in line with the EYFS framework
  • Help maintain a calm, organised, and nurturing environment
  • Support and mentor practitioners to ensure consistent standards
  • Plan engaging learning experiences tailored to children's individual needs
  • Observe, assess, and monitor children's development and progress
  • Build positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues
  • Maintain safeguarding, health & safety, and nursery standards at all times
