An exciting opportunity has become available for a

Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon to join a friendly, well-established practice in Somerset on a

12-month fixed-term contract.

This is an ideal role for a Veterinary Surgeon looking for flexibility, clinical freedom and the chance to work within a supportive team. The position offers

30 hours per week with flexible working patterns and a

1 in 4 Saturday rota, providing an excellent work-life balance.

The successful candidate will join an experienced team including two Veterinary Surgeons, a Head Registered Veterinary Nurse, Registered Veterinary Nurse and dedicated support staff. The practice owner is a highly experienced Veterinary Surgeon, and you'll work alongside certificate holders and GP vets with over 20 years of experience, offering excellent support and mentorship.

The modern practice is well equipped with digital X-ray, ultrasound, ECG and an in-house laboratory. A refurbishment is planned for November, with a

Dental X-ray suite also being added to further enhance the facilities.

There is genuine opportunity to develop a particular clinical interest and build a caseload around it, with the possibility of securing a permanent position at the end of the contract.

The Role

• Provide high-quality medical and surgical care to small animal patients.

• Build strong relationships with clients through excellent communication.

• Work collaboratively with an experienced and supportive veterinary team.

• Maintain high clinical standards while contributing to the continued success of the practice.
