Science Teacher - SEMH & Special Educational Needs (SEN)

Luma Education Recruitment is recruiting a dedicated Science Teacher to join a specialist school supporting pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and Special Educational Needs (SEN).

This is a rewarding permanent opportunity for a passionate teacher who enjoys building positive relationships and delivering engaging Science lessons to small class sizes, allowing you to make a genuine difference to every learner.

Key Responsibilities

- Plan and deliver engaging Science lessons tailored to pupils with SEMH and SEN.

- Differentiate learning to meet individual Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) outcomes.

- Create a calm, structured and nurturing classroom environment.

- Support pupils' academic, emotional and social development.

- Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists and the wider school team.

- Monitor progress and adapt teaching to help every pupil achieve their potential.

Requirements

- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.

- Experience teaching Science in UK schools.

- Experience supporting pupils with SEMH, SEND or additional learning needs is desirable.

- Excellent behaviour management and relationship-building skills.

- Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one before starting).
