The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Senior Veterinary Surgeon to join a well-established veterinary hospital in Derby.

This is an ideal role for a confident veterinary surgeon who enjoys combining hands-on clinical work with leadership responsibilities. You'll work within a collaborative team, taking the lead on a varied medical and surgical caseload while mentoring colleagues and helping to maintain high clinical standards.

The Role

As the Senior Veterinary Surgeon, you will:

• Lead and manage a diverse medical and surgical caseload

• Provide clinical leadership and support to the wider veterinary team

• Offer guidance and second opinions on complex cases

• Build strong relationships with clients through clear, compassionate communication

• Support clinical governance and continuous improvement initiatives

• Mentor and develop less experienced veterinary colleagues

• Help maintain the highest standards of patient care and clinical excellence

The Hospital

You'll be joining a modern, well-equipped veterinary hospital with excellent facilities, including:

• Digital radiography

• Ultrasound

• Endoscopy

• Dedicated dog and cat wards

• Orthopaedic equipment

• Piped anaesthetic gases

• Experienced multidisciplinary clinical team

What We're Looking For

• MRCVS registered Veterinary Surgeon

• Previous experience working in small animal practice

• Confident managing a varied medical and surgical caseload

• Strong clinical decision-making skills

• Passion for delivering outstanding patient care

• Excellent communication and leadership abilities

• Enjoys mentoring and supporting colleagues

• Committed to continuous professional development
