We are recruiting a dedicated

Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) to join a progressive, supportive

Alternative Provision in Exeter. If you want to move away from mainstream bureaucracy and work where you can see the direct, daily impact of your expertise on vulnerable young people, this part-time role starting this

September is the perfect fit.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and coordinate SEN provision, ensuring the requirements of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) are met.

  • Collaborate with local authorities, external agencies, parents, and educators to design bespoke learning pathways.

  • Support pupils with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs, ADHD, ASD, and other complex barriers to learning.

  • Provide expert guidance to teaching staff to ensure inclusive, high-quality delivery.

Candidate Requirements:

To be considered for this position, candidates

must meet the following criteria:

  • NASENCO Qualification: Must hold the National Award for Special Educational Needs Coordination (or equivalent official UK SENCO qualification).

  • Driving Licence: A valid UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is

    essential (the role involves travel within the Exeter area to support students in community-based settings).

  • Experience: Experience working within an Alternative Provision, PRU (Pupil Referral Unit), or with SEMH/vulnerable youth is highly advantageous.
