Front of House Supervisor (6-Month Fixed-Term Contract)

About Us
HCL serves over 16 million meals each year, delivering high-quality catering services across schools and commercial settings. We are looking for an experienced and customer-focused Front of House Supervisor to join our team at Farnham House, Stevenage.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day front of house operation across breakfast and lunch services.
- Supervise, support, and motivate front of house team members.
- Deliver excellent customer service and maintain high presentation standards.
- Manage till operations and cash handling procedures.
- Take responsibility for stock ordering, monitoring, and monthly stock counts.
- Operate and oversee the coffee bar, including Barista duties.
- Replenish retail displays, vending machines, and refrigerators.
- Ensure food safety, health and safety, and compliance standards are maintained.
- Complete daily paperwork, due diligence records, and operational checks.
- Support the Chef Manager in achieving operational and financial targets.
About You
- Previous supervisory experience within hospitality, catering, retail, or food service.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Experience with stock control and cash handling.
- Organised, reliable, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Barista experience desirable but not essential.
Salary & Hours
£13.22 per hour (£27,573 per annum)
- 40 hours per week
- No late nights
- 5 days out of 7 rota, including weekends and bank holidays as required.
- Typical shifts:
- 07:00 - 15:30
- 09:00 - 17:30
- 30-minute break per shift
- Uniform provided
