Summary
Autism Room Lead (KS1) – Long-term temporary and ongoing, full-time starting September 2026

The school caters for children aged 3-11 and benefits from a dedicated SEND resource provision supporting pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
Duties as Autism Room Lead:
- Leading daily provision within the KS1 Autism Room
- Supporting pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder and associated needs
- Delivering structured learning activities and interventions
- Working closely with teachers, the SENCO, therapists, and support staff
- Supporting communication, sensory regulation, and social development
- Monitoring pupil progress and contributing to EHCP targets
- Creating a calm, nurturing, and highly structured learning environment
Ideal Autism Room Lead:
- Previous experience working with children with ASD
- Experience within an SRP, SEND Unit, or specialist provision is highly desirable
- Strong understanding of autism-friendly strategies and interventions
- Excellent behaviour management and communication skills
- Ability to lead and support a team effectively
- Patient, resilient, and nurturing approach
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
