The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join a successful and supportive network of practices across

Hertfordshire and North London.

This permanent position offers the perfect blend of stability and variety, making it ideal for a confident vet who enjoys working with different teams, broadening their clinical experience and building strong relationships across multiple practices.

You'll work alongside experienced Branch Partners, Lead Vets, RVNs and dedicated support teams, gaining exposure to a varied caseload while benefiting from a collaborative environment where knowledge sharing and clinical development are actively encouraged.

Across the region you'll have access to modern facilities including digital radiography, ultrasound, in-house laboratory services and endoscopy, together with the support of a nearby 24-hour hospital providing emergency, inpatient and referral services. The wider team has expertise across internal medicine, soft tissue surgery, cardiology, dentistry and diagnostic imaging, creating excellent opportunities to continue developing your own clinical interests.

To ensure you're fully supported from day one, you'll also be paired with a dedicated veterinary mentor who will provide ongoing guidance as you settle into the role.

 

What They're Looking For

• MRCVS registered Veterinary Surgeon

• Minimum of three years' UK small animal experience

• Confident with routine consultations and surgery

• Comfortable working both independently and as part of a wider team

• Able to adapt to different practice environments and enjoy the variety of multi-site working

• Passionate about delivering outstanding patient and client care

• Keen to continue developing both clinically and professionally

 

The Rota

Designed with flexibility and work-life balance in mind, this role offers:

• Four-day working week (36 hours)

• Flexible rota supporting planned holiday cover across the region

• Variable day off each week

• Approximately two bank holidays per year

• Around two weeks of shared on-call cover annually

• Only one to two additional rotational shifts per year

This varied rota provides excellent clinical exposure while maintaining a healthy balance between work and personal life.
