HGV Class 1 (CE) Tramper Drivers - Immediate Starts Available - Sherburn-in-Elmet (LS25)

£17.50 per hour + Holiday Pay + Night Out Allowance

The Best Connection are currently recruiting for 4 x HGV Class 1 Tramper Drivers on behalf of our client based in Sherburn-in-Elmet (LS25).

Whether you're looking for ongoing agency work or a temp-to-perm opportunity, this client can offer the flexibility to suit you.

What's on Offer?

£17.50 per hour PAYE

Holiday pay accrued separately

Night out allowance paid (£26.20 per night)

Immediate starts available

Ongoing work throughout 2026

Temp-to-perm opportunities available

The Role

This is a full-week tramping position, delivering building materials to suppliers, construction sites, and developments across the UK.

Leave site on Monday morning

Stay out Monday to Thursday night

Return to depot on Friday

Average 55 hours per week

Nationwide deliveries

Loads are generally unloaded by forklift at the delivery point, meaning minimal physical work. However, drivers will be required to:

Open and close curtain-sided trailers

Secure and check loads using straps

Complete delivery paperwork using PDA devices

Maintain a professional and safety-conscious approach at all times

✅ Experience & Requirements

Our client is keen to speak with both experienced Class 1 drivers and those with limited commercial driving experience who are eager to learn.

You'll need:

Valid Class 1 (CE) Licence

Driver CPC Qualification Card

Digital Tachograph Card

No major endorsements

Good attitude and willingness to get involved

Confidence using basic handheld technology (PDAs)

All applicants must successfully complete a driving assessment, including:

On-road driving assessment

Yard manoeuvring exercises

Reversing onto bays

Basic theory questions

Full Training Provided

We want drivers to feel confident before heading out on their own.

Your onboarding will include:

✅ Buddy day alongside an experienced driver

This structured training programme ensures you're fully prepared and comfortable with the vehicle, routes, and customer processes before going solo.
