Summary

The post holder will play an important role in this dynamic team.

The successful candidate will be hardworking, motivated team player, including flexibility to respond rapidly, working under the direction of senior nurses within the team. You will need to work flexibly to meet the demands of the service, and be able to work effectively within NNU, Paediatrics and Transitional Care Unit.  Across a 7 day working week 24 hours a day. Neonatal  experience not essential as training will be given.

To provide high quality nursing care and participate in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of the care needs for the patient group.

Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust is an integrated Trust and the only provider of NHS acute care in Walsall, serving a population of 284,300. It provides inpatient and outpatient services at the Manor Hospital as well as a wide range of services in the community. Walsall Manor houses the full range of district general hospital services under one roof. The £170 million development was completed in 2010, and ongoing upgrades ensure the Trust now has state-of-the-art facilities, including a Critical Care Unit, Neonatal Unit, Obstetric Theatre, and Integrated Assessment Unit. A new Urgent and Emergency Care Centre, opened in March 2023, has significantly improved emergency care facilities and capacity, providing almost 5,000 square metres of additional clinical space.

The Care Support Worker will:

·      Be an integral member of the ward/department team working under the direct supervision of a registered practitioner,

·      Be responsible for providing care to patients as delegated by the registered practitioner,

·      Contribute to the maintenance of care environment and quality initiatives to enhance patient care,

·      Ensure that their practice adheres to policies, procedures, and competencies,

·      Act in a manner that upholds privacy, dignity, respect and confidentiality of patients and colleagues.
