Band 2, £25,272 per annum, pro rata

Hours: Part time, 15 per week, all MKUH roles will be considered for flexible working

Are you organised, caring and committed to helping maintain a clean, safe and welcoming environment for babies, families and staff? We are looking for a dedicated Neonatal Housekeeper to join our Neonatal Unit and support the smooth day-to-day running of the service.

This is an important support role within the Neonatal Unit. You will help coordinate patient facilities services, including cleaning, catering and general housekeeping duties, ensuring the environment is well maintained and meets the needs of babies, families and the wider clinical team.

You will work closely with the Nurse in Charge and the wider neonatal team to monitor standards, report any concerns or deficiencies, and support actions required to maintain a high-quality environment. You will also help ensure stock, supplies and equipment are available and well organised to support safe and efficient care.

Previous experience in a care or healthcare environment is desirable but not essential, as training will be provided. You will need good organisational, IT and time management skills, along with a positive and flexible approach to supporting a busy and developing neonatal service.

As a Neonatal Housekeeper, you will support the delivery of a clean, organised and safe environment across the Neonatal Unit. This will include maintaining high cleaning standards, completing cleaning records, cleaning designated equipment and areas in line with Trust policy, and helping to ensure the unit is ready to meet the needs of babies, families and staff.

You will assist with catering and food safety requirements, including preparing refreshments and snacks where appropriate. You will also help monitor service delivery, report any issues, maintain stock levels, organise ward areas, welcome visitors, transport equipment and support effective communication while always following confidentiality, infection prevention, health and safety and Trust policy requirements
