Summary
Job Summary
To lead on strengthening young people’s (8-12) voice, ensuring they are meaningfully involved in shaping services, projects, and decision-making across the organisation and in the community. The role will build and sustain effective engagement opportunities, support young people’s participation in governance and advocacy, and develop inclusive and empowering practices.
Duties
Design and deliver programmes, workshops, surveys and forums to increase children’s participation and influence as well as identifying strengths, resources & barriers of their local areas.
Support children to develop confidence and take on age-appropriate leadership opportunities within the organisation (e.g. children’s groups, peer helpers, project ambassadors, and social action activities).
Develop innovative engagement strategies to reach underrepresented communities of young people.
Facilitate safe, inclusive, and accessible spaces for dialogue, consultation, and co-production.
Organise opportunities for children to meet and learn from others, helping to broaden their interests and aspirations.
Celebrate and promote children’s achievements through showcases, events and digital platforms, giving them opportunities to share their work and ideas
Represent the organisation in community networks and partnerships meetings.
Keep up-to-date working knowledge of human centred design, co-creation, civic leadership, behaviour change, social change.
Support senior management with monitoring, reviewing and evaluating delivery evaluation processes.
