Summary

We are recruiting on behalf of our client for a highly skilled and experienced HGV technician to join their modern fleet workshop in Welwyn Garden City.

The successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining a diverse fleet of commercial vehicles, delivering high standards of service and safety.

This is a unique opportunity for an HGV technician to work within a reputable company offering a rewarding role with excellent benefits and a flexible 4-day working week.

Benefits:

- Four-day workweek, Monday to Friday, with hours from 7am to 5pm

- Salary of £32,000, with a performance-based bonus of £2,500 per annum

- £200 guarantee for the first 3 months

- No evenings or weekends required

Duties:

- Diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a mixed fleet including fire appliances

- Conducting vehicle inspections, ensuring compliance with safety standards

- Completing service and repair documentation accurately

- Ensuring a safe, clean, and organised workshop environment

- Adhering to health and safety legislation and protocols

- Supporting team workflow to meet daily productivity targets

- Assisting with general workshop tasks as required to ensure high service standards

Requirements:

- City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3 qualification in HGV maintenance

- Valid HGV licence

- Proven experience in diagnostics, repairs, and heavy vehicle maintenance

- Familiarity with diagnostic equipment and repair standards

- Strong attention to detail with a focus on safety and quality

- Excellent communication and teamwork skills

- Flexibility to work a four-day week with a positive attitude towards workload
