Summary

Morgan Hunt are working with a consultancy to recruit a Principal Structural Engineer to join their Edinburgh office. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled engineer to play a key role in delivering a diverse portfolio of building structures projects across multiple sectors, while contributing to the development of a growing team. You will work closely with clients, architects and multidisciplinary design teams to lead structural engineering projects from concept through to completion.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the structural design and delivery of projects across a range of sectors, including:

Commercial

Retail

Banking

Education

Distilleries

Energy infrastructure, including substations

Manage projects through all design stages, ensuring delivery to programme, budget and quality standards

Produce and review structural calculations, drawings, specifications and technical reports

Mentor and support graduate and junior engineers

Contribute to business development by maintaining strong client relationships and identifying opportunities for repeat business

What you bring:

A degree in Civil or Structural Engineering

Chartered Engineer status or be working towards chartership

Significant experience in the design and delivery of building structures projects

Experience across a range of sectors such as commercial, retail, education, industrial, distilleries or energy infrastructure would be advantageous

Strong knowledge of UK design standards and current building regulations

Experience using industry-standard structural analysis and design software

Strong communication skills
