Clinical Support Worker - Urgent Treatment Centre

Band 3 - Part time - 35 hours - 

Permanent Contract

The post holder will work as part of the team within Urgent and Emergency Care - UTC , assisting in administrative and general care duties as specified below, under the direct supervision of a registered nurse. The post holder will have a requirement to be competent in a broad range of work activities, with an amount of agreed autonomy, providing some guidance and supervision to Health care assistants.

Please note that whilst the trust does offer sponsorship this role is unfortunatelynot eligible for visa sponsorship under the UK Health and Care Worker visa route. This is due to the position not meeting the minimum salary threshold of £25,000 per annum and/or the required skill level set by UK Visas and Immigration.

•       Collaborate and contribute within identified team, in the planning and delivery of patients care. 

•       Contribute to the development and implementation of patients individual care plans to deliver a high standard of care. 

•       Maintain clear concise and legible documentation adhering to standards in accordance to Trust Policies.  

•       Contribute to health education/promotion issues within the clinical area, utilising written information, leaflets to increase awareness of health issues. 

•       Contribute to patient handover, updating colleagues of care delivered and patient’s condition throughout patient’s journey. 

•       Perform and accurately record patient’s vital signs, record 12 lead ECG and blood glucose levels, venous blood gases as directed, reporting findings to the qualified nurse. 

  

•       Competent in venepuncture to obtain routine and urgent specimens as required. 

•       Competent in intravenous cannulation and removal of cannulation products  Assist with basic cardio-pulmonary resuscitation procedures.
