Summary
Driver Technician - Equipment Delivery & Maintenance
We are looking for a reliable, practical, and customer-focused Driver Technician to join our team. This is a varied, hands-on role involving travel to customers in their homes, as well as hospitals, care homes, and schools.
As a Driver Technician, you will deliver, collect, repair, and maintain specialist equipment, while clearly demonstrating its safe and correct use. You will be working directly with service users, so a professional, patient, and empathetic approach is essential.
Key Responsibilities of a Driver Technician
- Fault finding and carrying out repairs to specialist equipment in customer homes and other locations
- Delivering equipment and demonstrating its safe and correct use to service users
- Collecting equipment when required
- Completing planned preventative maintenance and safety checks
- Carrying out scheduled daily jobs allocated by the service team
- Responding to urgent and emergency repairs when required
- Providing a professional, courteous, and empathetic service to all customers
- Following health and safety procedures and company standards at all times
- Keeping the company vehicle clean, organised, and fully stocked
- Accurately completing all required job and service information
Working Hours for a Driver Technician
- 40 hours per week
- Monday - Friday
- 8:00am - 4:30pm
- 30-minute unpaid lunch break
Requirements
- Full UK driving licence
- Good practical, mechanical, or DIY skills
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving ability
- Confident communication and excellent customer service skills
- A professional, patient, and empathetic approach
- Ability to work independently and manage a daily workload effectively
- Comfortable working in customer homes, hospitals, care homes, and schools
- Previous maintenance, repair, delivery, or technician experience would be beneficial
Salary
- £13.75 per hour
