Summary

An exciting opportunity has become available for a Band 5 Nurse to join the Chemotherapy Suite. The Maple Unit is a day unit situated within the Rugby St Cross hospital and cares for adults receiving treatment for haematology and oncology; this includes Systemic Anti Cancer Treatment (Chemotherapy, Immunotherapy), supportive treatments including blood products and management of central venous access devices.

The unit is well supported by the multidisciplinary team and a robust training programme is in place for those new to the area.

Applications are welcomed from those who have good time management skills and thrive in a fast paced environment.

Please note this post is not suitable for applicants who are required to undertake the OSCE training programme. Applicants who do not have current valid UK NMC registration will not be considered for this post.

Successful applicants will be required to provide an immunisation and vaccination report, from either their current UK occupational health provider or their UK GP.

• Effectively communicate information regarding clinical decisions, policy and care pathways to patients/carers and the multi-professional team including situations where difficulties in comprehension occur.

• A competent practitioner, teaching, assessing, supervising and providing mentorship appropriate students or junior staff.

• Responsible for clinical assessment of a group of patients and management of a team, ensuring appropriate care is planned, implemented and evaluated, involving patients and users.

• Organisation of cross-departmental/organisational activities to support patient care pathways.

• Demonstrate technical and/or practical skills to ensure optimum patient care management including; patient observations; equipment management and administration of agreed invasive tests/procedures.
