Summary

Maintenance Engineer (Multi Skilled)

Location – Near Canterbury, Kent

Salary: Up to £54,000 + Overtime – Continental Shift Pattern

Senex Recruitment is working with a successful and well-established manufacturing and industrial engineering business seeking a Maintenance Engineer who is Multi Skilled to support production line reliability, minimise downtime, and carry out in time repairs and Planned Preventative Maintenance.

About this Maintenance Engineer role

We are open to applications from electrically biased, multi-skilled, or mechanically biased engineers, provided they have some experience in electrical, such as the basic use of electrical test meters and understanding of motor connections.

This is a hands-on role in a fast-paced production environment where engineers are responsible for fault finding, reactive maintenance, and planned preventative maintenance across a wide range of industrial equipment.

Engineers with more advanced skills in PLCs, instrumentation, or automation are invited to apply, but training and development opportunities are available for the right candidate.

Key responsibilities

Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and Equipment Improvement

Carry out scheduled maintenance to maintain equipment performance and reduce unplanned downtime.

Reactive Breakdown and Fault Finding

Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults efficiently using a methodical approach.

Manufacturing Equipment Support

Support production teams to ensure machinery operates safely and efficiently.

Electrical Maintenance and Diagnostics

Work with electrical systems including motors, sensors, control panels, and use of test equipment.

Automation, PLC and Instrumentation Support

Possibly assist with fault finding and improvements on PLC-controlled systems and instrumentation where applicable and if within your technical capabilities.

Maintenance Systems and Documentation

Maintain accurate maintenance records and contribute to improving engineering processes.

Continuous Improvement and Engineering Projects

Support reliability improvements, upgrades, and site engineering projects.

Safety and Compliance

Ensure all work is completed in line with health, safety, and compliance standards.

Shift-Based Engineering Support

Work within a structured continental shift pattern covering both days and nights.
