Were recruiting 6 Barrier Guards to join a major defence project at Devonport Dockyard, Plymouth. This is an excellent opportunity to work on one of the UKs largest engineering sites, offering competitive pay, regular shift work and long-term career prospects.

Shift Pattern
10 days on / 4 days off
11:00pm - 7:00am
Working every weekend
The Role
As an Barrier Guard, youll play a vital role in maintaining the safety of personnel during Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) activities.
Your responsibilities will include:
Maintaining controlled safety exclusion zones during radiographic testing
Preventing unauthorised access to restricted work areas
Monitoring barriers, signage and access points
Communicating with NDT Technicians and Supervisors
Following strict Health & Safety procedures and Permit to Work systems
Reporting any breaches or safety concerns immediately
Supporting safe working practices across a variety of engineering environments
Youll be working across multiple locations throughout Devonport Dockyard, including:
SRC
9 Dock
Waterfront
Various operational areas across the site
What Were Looking For
We are looking for reliable, safety-conscious individuals who can work confidently in a highly regulated environment.
Previous experience in any of the following would be advantageous:
Industrial or Manufacturing
Construction
Shipbuilding or Marine
Defence
Security
Site Marshalling
Health & Safety Support
General Labouring within heavy industry
You should also have:
Excellent communication skills
A proactive approach to Health & Safety
The ability to follow procedures and work as part of a team
A good level of reliability and attention to detail
Security Clearance
Successful applicants must be able to obtain Security Check (SC) Clearance before starting employment.
