Summary

Senior Accounts Assistant

Redditch Area | Up to c.£35,000

We are recruiting for an experienced Accounts Assistant to join a busy finance team within a fast-paced business environment. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong transactional finance experience looking to further develop their career within a supportive and growing organisation.

Key Responsibilities

• Processing purchase and sales ledger transactions

• Reconciling supplier statements and bank accounts

• Managing payment runs and daily banking activities

• Processing expenses and maintaining accurate financial records

• Assisting with weekly payroll administration and timesheet processing

• Supporting month-end activities, including reconciliations and journals

• Monitoring aged debtors and creditors

• Resolving finance queries from suppliers, customers and internal stakeholders

• Maintaining financial controls and supporting process improvements

Skills & Experience

• Previous experience in an Accounts Assistant, Finance Assistant or similar role

• Strong knowledge of purchase ledger, sales ledger and bank reconciliations

• Experience supporting payroll and month-end processes

• Good Excel skills and familiarity with accounting software

• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills

• Ability to manage workloads and meet deadlines

Desirable

• Experience within construction, engineering or project-based environments

• Knowledge of CIS, VAT and subcontractor payments

• AAT qualified or studying towards an accounting qualification
