Summary

Dispatch Operative

📍 Location: Rochdale

💷 Pay: £12.71 per hour

🕒 Hours:

- Monday - Thursday: 7:00am - 4:00pm

- Friday: 7:00am - 12:00pm

📅 Contract: Temporary (4-6 weeks initially, with the potential for extension)

Meridian Business Support are recruiting for a Dispatch Operative to join a busy manufacturing business in Rochdale. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous dispatch experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and is confident using computer systems and courier platforms such as DHL and UPS.

As a Dispatch Operative, you will play a key role in ensuring products are shipped to customers on time while supporting the stores and production teams.

Duties of the Dispatch Operative:

- Assist the Dispatch Supervisor with the day-to-day running of the dispatch department.

- Prepare and dispatch customer orders accurately and efficiently.

- Use computer systems and courier software, including DHL and UPS.

- Support the Stores Team Leader with stock control and spare parts where required.

- Manage the movement of products across the shop floor to ensure production schedules are met.

- Provide support to the Assistant Production Manager and Dispatch Supervisor during busy periods and holiday cover.

- Help maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment.

- Operate a Counterbalance FLT to move materials safely around site.

We're looking for:

- Previous experience in a Dispatch Operative, Dispatch Assistant or warehouse dispatch role.

- Experience using courier systems such as DHL, UPS or similar.

- Good IT and computer skills.

- A valid Counterbalance FLT licence (essential).

- A proactive, organised approach with excellent attention to detail.

- Ability to work well as part of a team.
