Summary

We are seeking a Laboratory Technician to be based at our Thurso campus.

Position: We are seeking a Laboratory Technician to be based at our Thurso campus.

Responsibilities: The post holder will provide high quality laboratory technical support for Research & Knowledge Exchange and its commercial, research and teaching activities. You will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of laboratory instruments and associated IT, preparation of sample materials, compounds and solutions, maintaining accurate records and undertake field work when required.

Qualifications, Experience and Skills: The suitable candidate will hold a minimum qualification equivalent to HNC level plus approximately 5 years relevant work experience. You should have an understanding of health and safety regulations and procedures and working knowledge of relevant systems, equipment, processes and procedures. It is essential you have good oral and written communication skills, ability to plan and organise workload/tasks and can work as part of a team.

Salary: 29,238 - 30,481 per annum

Location: Thurso

Working Hours: 35 hours, Permanent

Closing Date: 12pm, Friday 7th August 2026
