Behaviour Mentor - SEND School
Are you an experienced and dedicated Behaviour Mentor with a passion for supporting children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)?
We are working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive specialist school that is looking to appoint a committed Behaviour Mentor to join their team on a full-time basis. This is a rewarding opportunity to support pupils with a range of additional needs, helping them develop confidence, resilience, and the skills they need to thrive both academically and personally.
As a Behaviour Mentor, you will provide tailored support to a pupil with complex Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and behavioural needs, working closely with the wider school team to promote positive outcomes.
- Providing dedicated 1:1 support for a pupil with complex ASC and behavioural needs
- Supporting communication, emotional regulation, and engagement in learning
- Implementing structured routines and positive behaviour support strategies
- Assisting with personal care where required, ensuring dignity, safety, and wellbeing
- Working collaboratively with class teachers, the SENCO, therapists, and external professionals
- Helping to create a calm, safe, and inclusive learning environment where every pupil can succeed

We're looking for someone who is patient, resilient, and passionate about making a positive difference.
- Experience working with children or young people with SEND, particularly Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
- Understanding of behaviour support, communication, and sensory needs
- A calm, positive, and nurturing approach
- Willingness to provide personal care where required
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Reliable, committed, and interested in a long-term opportunity
- Experience working within a specialist SEND provision or ASC setting
- Knowledge of approaches such as visual supports, structured teaching, or intensive interaction
- Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification
- Full-time position with an immediate start
