We are seeking a Maintenance Operator to join a mobile team delivering reactive maintenance services across train stations in the Yorkshire region.

​The role involves supporting general maintenance, vegetation, and minor plumbing activities to ensure stations remain safe, functional, and well-presented.

We are looking for an individual who can work alongside an existing team to carry out a variety of hands-on tasks daily, with flexibility to participate in an on-call rota (approximately once per month) to respond to overnight emergency repairs when required.

The Role

Carry out tasks as directed by the Area Supervisor and Area Manager

Replace Perspex in poster cases, shelters, and roof panels, and complete minor glazing works

Repair and replace fencing panels and undertake minor joinery tasks

Perform minor plumbing works and drainage clearance

Replace signage using ladders and carry out gutter clearance at low and high levels

Rectify and replace station fixtures/furniture, including minor painting and wall tile replacement

Undertake vegetation works, deep cleaning tasks, and use hand and electric tools safely

Report faulty or damaged equipment and participate in the on-call rota for emergency repairs

About You

Personable and reliable with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team

Good standard of communication

Relevant experience and qualifications in a trade such as building, plumbing, or similar
