As the business continues to grow, they are now looking for an experienced CNC Setter / Operator to join their team. Candidates with CNC setting experience who also have CAD/CAM exposure would be highly desirable, although full CNC programming experience is not essential for the right individual.
Working Hours
Standard hours (39 hours per week):
Monday – Thursday: 07:30 – 16:30
Friday: 07:30 – 12:30
Flexible working arrangements may be available where possible, including adjusted start times to support personal commitments.
Shift flexibility may also be available, including:
Monday – Thursday: 05:30 – 14:30
Friday: 05:30 – 10:30
The Role
• Due to continued growth, investment in new machinery, and the introduction of additional multitasking bar-fed equipment, our client is seeking a CNC Setter / Operator to support their manufacturing operations.
• The successful candidate will be responsible for setting and operating CNC machinery, ensuring components are manufactured accurately and efficiently while supporting improvements across production processes.
Key Responsibilities
• Setting and operating CNC machines to produce precision-engineered components
• Selecting appropriate tooling and supporting efficient manufacturing methods
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
• Identifying potential drawing or process issues and suggesting improvements
• Editing CNC programmes where required
• Carrying out quality checks using conventional inspection and measuring equipment
• Supporting continuous improvement initiatives within production
• Maintaining a safe, organised, and efficient working environment
Requirements
Essential:
• Previous CNC machining experience within a manufacturing environment
• Strong CNC setting and operating experience
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings
• Confident using inspection and measuring equipment
• Good problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
Desirable:
• Experience with twin turret or multi-axis CNC machines
• Ability to write and edit CNC programmes
• CAD/CAM experience would be highly advantageous
• Experience with CNC programming on multi-axis twin turret lathes
