Summary
We are seeking an experienced School Site & Facilities Manager to lead the day-to-day management, maintenance, safety and security of a busy school site. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for ensuring buildings and grounds remain safe, compliant, well-maintained and fit for purpose.
The successful candidate will manage site operations, oversee maintenance programmes, coordinate contractors, lead a caretaking team and ensure full compliance with health and safety legislation.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage the maintenance, repair and development of school buildings and grounds.
• Deliver planned preventative maintenance programmes.
• Ensure compliance with all health and safety, fire, asbestos, legionella, electrical and gas safety requirements.
• Lead and develop the caretaking team, including performance management and staffing.
• Manage external contractors, service agreements and maintenance projects.
• Oversee site security, including alarms, CCTV, access control and emergency procedures.
• Carry out site inspections, risk assessments and compliance audits.
• Maintain accurate maintenance, compliance and facilities records.
• Manage premises budgets, obtain quotations and ensure value for money.
• Support refurbishment and capital improvement projects.
• Promote a safe, secure and customer-focused environment.
