A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF

I am lady in my 70s living in Tonyrefail with my husband and he is my main carer. In 2014 I experienced the first of four major strokes. This was very severe and has affected my speech and ability to swallow and resulted in right sided weakness, as a result of this I have expressive and receptive dysphasia and cannot verbalise my needs beyond saying yes or no and continue to suffer with mini strokes. I am intellectually capable of understanding but sometimes I need more time to answer, given the information is provided with clear wording.

I have always been a very independent person and know my own mind. I have worked all my life and my career history includes such things as Biochemistry and working with blood analysis within the NHS.

My interests used to include crafts such as sewing, embroidery and painting. I enjoy watching television in general now.
