Applications are invited for the full time post of Senior Clinical Fellow in Colorectal Surgery, within the Division of Surgery, at University Hospitals Bristol. We are one of the UK’s leading surgical centres with an international reputation for healthcare research.
This full time post is aimed at surgical trainees who have finished their core surgical training and want to spend time in gaining more clinical experience in general surgery. The post is also suitable for more senior (Peri CCT) trainees as the nature of the job is predominantly clinical. This post will provide experience in general and colorectal surgery including its sub-specialities, emergency surgery and colonoscopy training.This is a fixed term post for 2 – 3 months.
The post holder will be attached to colorectal team and be responsible for attending theatres, outpatients, endoscopy lists and on call commitments. The colorectal unit is a tertiary referral centre and offers training in all aspects of colorectal surgery including colorectal cancer, IBD and Pelvic floor surgery.
Within the unit there is a strong research ethos. The trainee will be encouraged to take part in clinical audits and clinical / educational research.
