Susan is a warm, friendly and thoughtful woman in her 40s and she values meaningful relationships and connection. She lives in the Cumbernauld area and enjoys spending quality time with family and friends, relaxing with morning coffee, catching up on TV, going to cafés and coffee shops, visiting parks, going to the cinema or theatre and occasional short breaks away.
Susan is looking for a caring, reliable, patient, friendly and respectful Female Personal Assistant to support her. This is an opportunity to provide person-centred support to a warm, friendly, chatty and thoughtful woman who values meaningful relationships, independence and living a full life.
About the role
Susan has multiple medical conditions and is an ambulatory wheelchair user, and the role involves supporting Susan with aspects of personal care, light household tasks and day-to-day routines, while promoting choice, dignity and independence at all times.
Main Duties
• Provide support on an occasional basis with personal care, including bathing or showing and washing, drying and straightening hair.
• Assist with light household tasks such as putting on washing, doing dishes and putting them away.
• Support with meal preparation.
• Prompting with taking medication.
• Help maintain a comfortable, respectful and well-organised home environment.
• Encourage independence and support Susan to enjoy meaningful daily life and activities.
• Support leaving the house to access social activities such as going to cafes, coffee shops, cinema and the theatre.
• Accompany Susan to attend medical appointments
• Offer companionship and supportive assistance in a way that respects Susan’s preferences and routines.
About You
You will be caring, friendly, dependable, supportive, understanding and respectful of independence. You will recognise the importance of helping someone to live a meaningful life, not simply exist. You should be comfortable working within a team of Personal Assistants and able to build a positive working relationship based on trust, dignity and respect. Knowledge or experience of supporting within a neurodiverse household would be beneficial.

• Driver essential
• Friendly, chatty and respectful approach
• Able to support with dignity and sensitivity
Hours
15 hours per week
Days and Times:
Working hours could include:
• Weekdays (ranging between11:00am to 3:00pm)
• Saturdays (ranging between 11:00am to 4:00pm)
• Occasional Friday or Saturday evenings to assist with getting ready and support to attend events or activities
Specific days and times can be discussed with the employer at interview.
Rate of pay: £13.45 per hour
