The Pain Management Centre at Leicester General Hospital is expanding its outpatient services and recruiting Band 5 Nurses and Theatre Practitioners to join our elective care team.
The Centre supports patients with chronic and complex pain, improving quality of life through specialist assessment, treatment and ongoing care within a patient-centred environment.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team, working across outpatient clinics and elective services to support patients throughout their treatment journey. We are seeking an enthusiastic Band 5 Registered Nurse/Theatre Practitioner to join our specialist Pain Management Centre. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a dynamic elective service, supporting patients undergoing a range of pain management procedures. The role involves rotational working across admissions, discharge areas, theatres and recovery, delivering high-quality, patient-centred care within a multidisciplinary team.
The Pain Management Centre provides specialist care for patients with chronic and complex pain, delivering elective procedures in a busy clinical environment. You will admit and discharge patients, assist with pain procedures in theatre and support recovery, ensuring safe and effective care throughout the patient pathway.
The successful applicant will demonstrate:
• Assessment, planning and delivery of safe, effective care
• Admission and discharge of patients undergoing procedures
• Assisting with specialist pain treatments in theatre
• Monitoring patients in theatre and recovery
• Knowledge of theatre safety, patient preparation and infection prevention
• Ability to support patients through recovery pathways
• Recognising and responding to changes in patient condition
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Effective decision-making in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
• A flexible and professional approach in an elective care setting

• Responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating programmes of evidence-based nursing care for a group of patients.
