This is an excellent opportunity to join a respected Midlands-based logistics company with a long-standing reputation in timber and pallet distribution. The role offers ongoing work with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.This company specialises in timber products and pallet logistics, therefore strapping experience is essential/advantageous.The RoleAs an HGV Class 1 Driver, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient transport of timber pallets, ensuring all deliveries and collections are completed to a high professional standard.Key Responsibilities:Delivering and collecting timber pallets with minimal handball (use of pump truck where required).Safely operating a Class 1 (Category C+E) vehicle in line with all regulations.Carrying out daily vehicle safety checks and reporting any defects promptly.Planning and completing routes in line with delivery schedules.Ensuring all loads are secured safely and correctly.Completing all delivery and collection paperwork accurately.Providing a professional and courteous service when dealing with clients and stakeholders.Adhering to all drivers’ hours, tachograph regulations, and health & safety requirements.Working closely with the logistics team to ensure smooth daily operations.Undertaking any other reasonable duties as required.RequirementsValid UK HGV Class 1 (Category C+E) licence.Valid Driver CPC qualification.Digital Tachograph Card.Minimum 2 years Class 1 driving experience.Must be 25 years or over.No more than 6 penalty points (no major endorsements).Strong knowledge of UK transport regulations and legislation.Previous experience in a similar role preferred.Flatbed/strapping experience advantageous.Strong communication and professional customer service skills.Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team.Excellent time management and ability to meet deadlines.What We OfferCompetitive rates of pay.Ongoing, full-time work.Monday to Friday schedule.06:00 AM starts with shifts averaging 8–10 hours.Temp to perm opportunity for the right candidate.Weekly pay.Support from an experienced Workchain Recruitment team.If you're an experienced HGV Class 1 Driver looking for your next opportunity in Burton-upon-Trent, we'd love to hear from you.Apply today through the Workchain website at www.workchain.co.uk.We look forward to receiving your application.
