This is an excellent opportunity to join a reputable Midlands-based logistics and timber distribution company with a long-standing presence in the industry. The role offers ongoing work with the potential for a permanent position for the right candidate.This business specialises in timber products and pallet logistics, therefore strapping experience is highly advantageous.The RoleAs an HGV Class 1 Driver, you will be responsible for the safe transportation of timber pallets and related goods, ensuring all deliveries and collections are completed efficiently and professionally.Key Responsibilities:Delivering and collecting timber pallets using Class 1 vehicles.Operating with minimal handball (use of pump truck where required).Safely securing loads using appropriate strapping techniques.Carrying out daily vehicle safety checks and reporting defects.Planning and completing routes in line with delivery schedules.Ensuring goods are transported safely and securely at all times.Completing all delivery and collection paperwork accurately.Providing a professional and courteous service when dealing with customers and clients.Adhering to all transport regulations, drivers’ hours, and health & safety requirements.Supporting the logistics team to ensure smooth daily operations.RequirementsValid UK HGV Class 1 (Category C+E) licence.Valid Driver CPC qualification and Digital Tachograph Card.Minimum 2 years Class 1 driving experience.No more than 6 penalty points (no major endorsements).Strong knowledge of UK road transport regulations.Previous experience in a similar role preferred.Strapping experience is highly advantageous.Strong communication and professional attitude.Reliable, flexible, and able to work independently and as part of a team.Excellent timekeeping and organisational skills.What We OfferCompetitive rates of pay.Ongoing, consistent work.Monday to Friday shifts.06:00 AM starts with shifts averaging 8–10 hours.Potential for a permanent position.Weekly pay.Support from an experienced Workchain Recruitment team.If you're an experienced HGV Class 1 Driver looking for your next opportunity in Castle Donington, we'd love to hear from you.Apply today through the Workchain website at www.workchain.co.uk.We look forward to receiving your application.
