Dispatcher - Warehouse & Logistics Location: Leyland, Lancashire Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:30am-4:00pm About the Role: The Best Connection are looking for a reliable and detail-focused Dispatcher to join our warehouse team on a temporary agency assignment. As a Dispatcher, you'll play a key role in making sure customer orders leave the warehouse accurately, on time and with the correct documentation. You'll coordinate collections with carriers, check orders, prepare labels and paperwork, and keep our systems up to date. This is a busy role that would suit someone who is organised, confident using computers and comfortable working to deadlines. You'll need a good eye for detail and the ability to stay calm and focused when managing multiple orders and carrier collections. Key Responsibilities Dispatch & Warehouse Operations: Review the daily dispatch schedule and prioritise orders according to collection and delivery deadlines. Check picked and packed orders against sales orders, including product codes, quantities and delivery details. Book parcel and pallet consignments using approved carrier portals. Print and securely apply shipping labels, ensuring they are clearly visible. Prepare delivery notes, packing lists and other required dispatch documentation. Move completed orders to the correct collection area. Support safe and efficient handovers to carriers. Systems & Administration: Accurately update ClickUp and other company systems as orders progress through dispatch. Record carrier references, consignment numbers and collection details. Ensure all required paperwork is complete and dispatch evidence is stored correctly. Identify and report issues such as incorrect addresses, missing paperwork, quantity discrepancies or damaged packaging before orders leave the site. Communication, Safety & Teamwork: Liaise with the warehouse, sales team and carriers to resolve dispatch queries quickly. Provide clear updates on completed orders, outstanding collections, delays and other issues. Follow all warehouse, manual-handling and loading safety procedures. Work independently while communicating effectively with the wider team. Maintain a professional, reliable and respectful approach at all times. What We're Looking For: Essential Skills Confident using computers and able to learn new systems and carrier portals quickly. Strong numeracy skills and confidence checking product codes, quantities and order references. Excellent attention to detail and a consistently high level of accuracy. Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities. Able to work to fixed carrier collection deadlines. Comfortable working independently and taking responsibility for your workload. Good communication skills. Physically able to handle goods safely in a warehouse environment. Experience: Previous experience in dispatch, warehousing, logistics or order processing would be an advantage.
