Overview Our client is seeking an experienced procurement, contracting or commercial support professional for an opportunity supporting the NATO Joint Warfare Centre (JWC) in Stavanger, Norway. Working within JWC's Purchasing & Contracting function, you will provide procurement, contract administration and financial support within a structured multinational Defence environment. This could be particularly relevant to ex-military personnel with procurement, commercial, financial administration or contracting experience, as well as suitably experienced Defence and government professionals. Please note: candidates are currently being sourced in support of a proposed supplier bid. Appointment is therefore subject to contract award. The Role Working under the direction of the designated Contracting Officer's Technical Representative, you'll support the administration of contracts and purchasing activity across JWC. Key responsibilities will include: • Administering contracts, purchase orders, amendments and modifications. • Reviewing contractual documentation for accuracy, completeness and renewal requirements. • Preparing competitive tenders and Requests for Quotation. • Supporting Requests for Proposal and market research activity. • Preparing procurement documentation, contract analyses and supporting records. • Developing sole-source justifications, budget and technical reviews, agreements and programmes of work. • Reconciling monthly invoices and supporting timely payment. • Monitoring delivery of goods and services against contractual requirements. • Liaising with JWC departments to understand current and future procurement requirements. • Coordinating with external stakeholders, including the Norwegian Ministry of Defence where required. What We're Looking For Candidates should ideally have: • A minimum of three years' procurement and contracting experience, including at least two years within a government or military environment. • At least one year of budget or financial administration experience, which could include invoicing, payroll, HR administration or general financial management. • Training and practical experience using an electronic procurement system, preferably integrated with an ERP or financial platform such as Oracle or SAP. • Strong Microsoft Office and Microsoft Teams skills. • A working understanding of AI systems and their practical application within a professional or administrative environment. • Strong written and verbal communication skills. • Good analytical ability, professional judgement and attention to detail. • The ability to operate effectively within a multinational environment. English proficiency equivalent to NATO STANAG 6001 Level 3333 across listening, speaking, reading and writing is required. Alternative Experience Candidates without direct procurement experience may still be considered where they can demonstrate a strong combination of: • Financial administration • Legal administration • Technical writing Experience administering IDIQ contracts would be advantageous but is not essential.
