Ensure sub-contractors are pre-qualified in accordance with management systems. Procurement of Sub-Contractors and preparation of Sub-Contractor order documentation. Assessing and certification of sub-contractor interim payments and ensuring required Payer / Pay-less notices as issued. Advising on a range of legal and contractual issues and identification and management of commercial risks. Production and presentation of monthly Cost Value Reconciliation on projects. Establish, maintain and enhance effective working relationships. Plan, allocate and evaluate work carried out by teams, individuals and self. Assist in managing the Commercial team and supervise and mentor Quantity Surveyors. Ensure effective interaction between the commercial and operational site teams. M Group Transport (Rail & Aviation) - when it comes to aviation, we deliver a variety of maintenance capital delivery projects across locations nationwide. Key Responsibilities/what they’ll be doing - Cost Management: Can you prepare accurate cost estimates and budgets? You’ll ensure effective financial control from pre-construction to final account. - Contract Administration: Are you experienced in managing contracts and negotiating terms? You’ll lead this process with confidence and clarity. - Risk & Procurement: Do you excel at identifying risks and managing procurement processes? You’ll ensure projects stay on track, within budget, and on time. - Team Collaboration & Leadership: Are you enthusiastic about mentoring others? You’ll share your expertise and support junior staff to ensure project success. MRICS or CICES accreditation is preferred. - Experience: Have you worked in civil engineering, rail, aviation, defence, or other safety-critical sectors? We’re looking for significant experience. - Strong working knowledge of NEC3/4 suite of contracts. In particular ECC Options A, C & E. - Skills: Are you proficient with cost management software (Oracle) and Microsoft Office? We're looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our Kier Places PFI Lifecycle team based in London. Location: London - Hybrid Working availableHours: 45 per week - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us. As a Senior Quantity Surveyor within our Kier Places PFI Lifecycle Team, you'll play a vital role in supporting the delivery of a strategic cost reduction programme across a portfolio of 26 PFI contracts. Working collaboratively with operational and technical teams, you'll focus on establishing cost certainty, identifying opportunities for efficiency and supporting contract teams to deliver lifecycle obligations within agreed budgets. This is an excellent opportunity to use your analytical skills and commercial expertise to make a real impact across a diverse portfolio. What will you be responsible for? As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you'll be working within the PFI Lifecycle team, supporting them in delivering improved commercial outcomes and cost efficiencies across the portfolio. Your day to day will include: -Leading detailed reviews of lifecycle forecasts and expenditure profiles across 26 PFI contracts, developing robust cost models to establish the cost of delivering remaining lifecycle obligations -Challenging existing lifecycle assumptions and delivery strategies to identify opportunities for cost reductions and efficiencies -Working collaboratively with operational and technical teams to validate lifecycle requirements and ensure forecast expenditure reflects actual contractual obligations -Producing detailed commercial analysis, reports and recommendations to support strategic decision making by senior management -Developing and implementing procurement strategies that deliver best value and support the achievement of portfolio cost reduction targets What are we looking for?
