This is a role within theGreen Paper for Transforming children and young people’s mental health programme The post holder will work within Brent Mental Health Support Team providing short-term evidence-based interventions to children and young people with mild to moderate anxiety and depression and/or behavioural difficulties and their parent(s)/carer(s). The post holder will work with children, young people and parents with different cultural backgrounds and ages, using interpreters when necessary and should be committed to equal opportunities. The post holder will also be required to complete a 1 year EMHP supervisor training programme if not already completed The MHST works with Young people with mild to moderate mental health presentations attending school/education setting in the Harrow area. The purpose of the team is to • Provide evidence-based 1-1 and group interventions to CYP and parents for mild to moderate mental health issues. • Support the senior mental health lead in each education setting to introduce or develop their whole school or college approach. • Give timely advice to school and college staff, and liaising with external specialist services, to help children and young people to get the right support and stay in education. Young people have access to the MHST through their education setting. School staff and other potential referrers are able to contact a team of clinical staff to discuss potential referrals. The MHST clinician will manage referrals, deal with queries, undertake clinical telephone triage and face to face assessment, give advice and signpost young people where appropriate. The role involves regular supervision of junior clinicians within the team including Trainee and Qualified Education Mental Health Practitioners. The postholder will also join the duty rota for the service. The key roles and responsibilities of the Senior Mental Health Practitioner will include: • Forming strong working relations with a variety of stakeholders • Working in partnership with schools/colleges and other educational settings. • Provide training to team members and other professionals/trainees • Supervising junior staff in the team. • Providing consultations to education colleagues and support education settings to embed a whole school approach to wellbeing • Developing and delivering evidence-based individual and group time limited interventions to young people within education settings in accordance with Children and Young People's IAPT principles • Holding a caseload of CYP with mild-moderate mental health difficulties • Completion of thorough assessments, risk assessments, care planning and reviews. • Ensuring that there is accurate and timely documentation to a high standard, and that Routine Outcome Measures are completed. • Evidencing the outcomes of the MHST service and feeding back this data to key stakeholders • Providing clinical supervision to Education Mental Health Practitioners and day to day clinical and supervisory support for the Trainee Education Mental Health Practitioners. • Contributing to group supervision spaces within the team. • Working as part of a senior team, supporting the Senior Clinical Supervisors and Service Development Leads to expand the service within the Brent area and improve the quality of the service. • Supporting and developing the interventions that can be delivered as part of the MHST within the education setting, including SEN settings. • Appropriately raise and report safeguarding concerns where identified and to support colleagues with this process Patient Safety • Safeguarding people by recognising and responding when an adult or child might be at risk from abuse but also recognising their own limits and asking for help and escalate concerns when necessary • Escalating safety concerns and by doing so acting as effective advocates for those who use our services • Being open and transparent about your own practice • Identifying areas where improvements in safety or quality can be made. The new appointees will join a busy and supportive department with a strong commitment to high standards of patient care. There will scope in the job plan to undertake ATSMs in advanced labour ward/ antenatal practice, Fetal Medicine or high risk pregnancy if you are eligible and support will be provided for completion of core training log book and application for CESR. There will be an Obstetrics and Gynaecology on-call (20.00pm-08.00am) with 2 tiers of registrars and a SHO. The successful candidates expected to cover weekends on approximately a 1:10 rota. They will be assigned either a day or a night shift for the weekend. There is a 98 hours per week consultant presence on the labour ward. Everyone will undergo both a hospital and a departmental induction prior to starting the job. There is a monthly Perinatal Meeting with the Paediatricians which has mandatory attendance. There is a Friday morning CTG meeting and Friday afternoon Calman teaching which is compulsory for all registrars to attend. There is a Departmental Audit meeting once a month. Ward round activities within the department are expected to be undertaken prior to the start of the programmed activities. • Senior Trust Doctors, like all members of staff is expected to develop professional and harmonious working relationships with all members of the nursing, professional, technical, and managerial staff with whom they have contact during the performance of their duties and to follow the Hospital’s Code of Ethics and Hospital Policies. • To provide medical and surgical care for patients in the department while in the clinics, in theatre and on the wards. • To meet with the respective consultants for advice and to maintain continuity of care. • To ensure that the junior staff (SpRs, STs and RMO on-call) are informed of all relevant issues regarding patients. • To follow the instructions given by and always liaise with the Consultants in charge of each patient. • The Senior Trust Doctor will work under supervision of a consultant but will be given the opportunity to undertake clinics and operating lists independently if the appropriate competencies are met. What you'll be doing; The Senior Technician must have an excellent understanding of the SCADA system and independently fault find and rectify issues via this and the plant's equipment. Communicate clear instructions and information to MBT operatives to support operations and high emphasis will be placed on the plant availability and the performance of the biological process Conduct scheduled physical inspections in accordance with company Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental (QHSE) procedures Carry out operational Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) checks and report findings with the shift supervisor and maintenance the maintenance team. Record all defects and findings accordingly and assist with KPI data entry Provide line management with specialist knowledge and hands on expertise rectifying and preventing problems such as equipment failure, material blockages and biological process inefficiencies Prepare both facilities for daily operation and carry out necessary prestart equipment checks in conjunction with the shift supervisor.
