An opportunity has arisen for a full time Navigator to join the Haematology department at the Royal Free Hospital. The role will focus on supporting access to psychological interventions to this client group. Training and supervision will be provided to support the post-holder in the role. The post holder will be commitment to the recovery model, team working, and service user / carer involvement. Experience of working with diversity in a multicultural setting is vital. The post-holder will work with clients presenting with a range of complex emotional and social difficulties. The Mental Health Hub, Early Intervention Service and inpatient wards, provide care for those clients whose needs cannot be adequately met within a primary care setting . Key responsibilities include: • Provide a welcoming and professional reception service for patients, relatives, visitors and members of the multidisciplinary team. • Manage telephone and face-to-face enquiries, responding appropriately and directing queries to the relevant person or department. • Support patient admissions, transfers and discharges, ensuring documentation and electronic records are completed accurately and promptly. • Maintain patient information systems and records in accordance with Trust policies, confidentiality requirements and data protection legislation. • Undertake a range of administrative duties including data entry, filing, scanning, photocopying, document management and management of ward correspondence. • Facilitate effective communication between the ward, clinical teams and other departments across the Trust. • Ensure patient records and ward documentation are maintained accurately, securely and are readily available when required. • Assist with the coordination of appointments, transport requests and other routine ward administrative processes. • Monitor and maintain ward stationery and administrative supplies, raising orders as required. • Support effective patient flow by ensuring timely completion of administrative processes relating to admissions, transfers and discharges. • Work collaboratively with clinical and non-clinical colleagues to support high standards of patient care and service delivery. • Adhere to all Trust policies and procedures, including Information Governance, Health and Safety, Safeguarding, Equality and Diversity, and Confidentiality requirements. • Comply with Trust Infection Prevention and Control policies and procedures at all times, maintaining a clean and safe working environment and taking personal responsibility for preventing and controlling healthcare-associated infections. • Escalate any concerns or operational issues to the Nurse in Charge or Ward Manager as appropriate. • Undertake any other duties commensurate with the grade of the post as reasonably required by the Ward Manager.
