Customer Development Manager
Lords Group Trading Plc - Croydon
Competitive
PermanentFull time
Job Advert BUILD RELATIONSHIPS. BUILD SALES. BUILD YOUR CAREER. We’re looking for a commercially minded Customer Development Manager to join the team at Mr Central Heating in Croydon, one of our busiest branches. This is a hands-on sales role for someone who enjoys talking to customers, spotting opportunities and turning them into business. You’ll take ownership of a customer base, develop existing accounts, bring lapsed customers back to us and proactively find new business. You don’t necessarily need plumbing and heating experience. If you have a strong background in sales, telesales, account management or customer development and know how to build genuine relationships with customers, we’d like to hear from you. What you’ll be doing You’ll be working 42 hours per week, which will include some Saturday working, at the heart of our branch sales activity. You’ll: * Manage and develop existing customer accounts * Follow up quotations quickly and consistently – we don’t like leaving opportunities behind * Reconnect with lapsed and declining customers and win back their business * Make proactive warm and cold calls to generate new opportunities * Identify and open new trade accounts * Get to know your customers, how they buy and what matters to them * Spot opportunities to increase sales, order values and product ranges * Keep accurate records of calls, quotations and opportunities on our CRM * Work closely with the branch team to deliver sales and gross profit targets * Provide knowledgeable, responsive and straightforward customer service What we’re looking for You’ll need a proven track record in sales, telesales, account management or customer development, along with the confidence to pick up the phone and create opportunities rather than wait for them to come to you. You’ll be someone who: * Builds rapport easily and enjoys developing long-term customer relationships * Is comfortable working to sales and gross profit targets * Can identify opportunities, handle objections and close a sale * Takes ownership and follows things through * Is organised enough to keep on top of customers, quotes and follow-ups * Understands that great sales are about both revenue and margin * Enjoys being part of a busy, customer-focused branch team Experience within a plumbing and heating merchant would be useful, but it isn’t essential. We’re more interested in finding someone with the right commercial instincts, energy and approach. If you’re someone who enjoys winning business, developing customers and seeing the results of your work on the numbers, we’d love to hear from you. Company Description Mr Central Heating has been supplying installers, trade professionals and homeowners with plumbing and heating products since 1982. Built on product expertise, trusted customer relationships and dependable service, we have grown into one of the UK's best-known plumbing and heating merchants. As part of Lords Group Trading, we combine decades of industry knowledge with the ambition, energy and opportunity of a growing Group. We are proud to create an inclusive workplace where people from all backgrounds and experiences are welcomed, valued and encouraged to succeed. If you are looking to join a business where you can contribute, develop and be part of a supportive team, we would love to hear from you.
