An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Highly Specialist Clinical Psychologist / Team lead to join a highly-regarded Mental Health Support Team in Ealing. Ealing MHST is a well-established schools-based early intervention mental health offer for mainstream schools, mainly offering interventions for mild-to-moderate low mood, anxiety and behaviours that challenge. The post holder will work collaboratively with the research teams and wider multidisciplinary team in the management of their own caseload of clinical trials patients and be accountable for the achievement of local and national targets in relation to the service This role will focus on delivery of early phase mild cognitive impairment and dementia clinical studies and supporting development of an increasing portfolio in this specialty The post holder will be involved in ensuring that any research undertaken safeguards the well-being of the patient and is conducted within Good Clinical Practice Guidelines for research. The post holder will have the skills to lead by example as an expert practitioner providing organisation and leadership to the multi-professional team and supporting the patient throughout a clinical trial. The post holder will also be expected to have sufficient skills to enable patients to make informed choices concerning their involvement in clinical trials by providing advice and information and acting as the patients advocate. The post holder will also be accountable for achieving local and national targets related to the service. Act as a role model for excellence in clinical research delivery. Work with a high level of autonomy to manage his/her caseload of patients, whilst working as part of a multidisciplinary team. Maintain effective communication with patients, carers and professionals to ensure service delivery. Work closely with the Research Matron and Clinical Lead in the provision of a comprehensive clinical trial service. Be aware of and work within Local Trust’s policies and procedures. Maintain links with other clinical trials professionals across local and national networks to share knowledge, skills and provide mutual support. To act in accordance with the NMC Code of Professional Conduct for Nurses, Midwives and Health Visitors and to be accountable for own clinical practice and professional actions at all times. These posts are open to registered mental health nurses, occupational therapists and social workers. Mental Health Support Teams work with children, young people and families across schools in Bexley & Greenwich . Candidates should have worked previously in mental health clinical settings and ideally have some CAMHS and supervision experience. Mental Health Support Teams are part of an exciting National initiative, working in collaboration with education settings, to improve the mental health and wellbeing of children and young people. There is a focus on early intervention, improving access and supporting the whole school approach to mental health and wellbeing within schools. Oxleas MHST work within a Thrive framework alongside education colleagues and community partners, Please note we welcome applicants who have not completed the EMHP supervision course. The MHST Senior Practitioner role supports the delivery of evidence-based 1:1 and group interventions for children and young people presenting with mild to moderate mental health need. The role requires joint working and close liaison with education colleagues to support the whole school approach to mental health and wellbeing within school settings, facilitating appropriate signposting to other services as required. The post holders will actively contribute to the delivery and development of a quality MHST service within Oxleas. The MHST Senior Practitioners, together with MHST Lead practitioners, offer support and supervision to the MHST workforce and it is an expectation of the role that the post holders have completed, or are willing to complete, the required Education Mental Health Practitioner supervision course in order to appropriately support the EMHP workforce.
