Key Responsibilities Providing one-to-one and small group support to learners with PMLD and complex needs. Supporting students with personal care, feeding, and daily living activities. Administering medication in line with agreed procedures and care plans. Supporting learners during practical sessions, workshops, educational visits, and community activities. Assisting students with mobility around the campus. Providing therapeutic interventions where appropriately trained. Maintaining accurate records and contributing to student reviews and progress reports. The North Thames Regional Environmental Control Equipment Service (NT RECES) is a regional service which provides specialist equipment to enable clients to access appliances in their homes, such as TV, lights, telephone and pagers to call for assistance as well as means to access computer technology devices. The successful applicant for this role will be expected to travel throughout the Service area of the base at Mount Vernon Hospital, covering North London (West Central and East), Hertfordshire and Luton, supporting those referred to the service, working as part of a multi-disciplinary Team, to ensure the safe and effective provision of EAT equipment. The role will involve working under the supervision of clinicians in the team to support clients, carers and healthcare professionals in using the technology supplied, either in the clients’ own home or in residential settings. Following their own induction, the post holder will provide user training and tuition to support client with the EAT equipment provided to them. Feedback will be reported back to the referring clinician. The post holder will be responsible for their own caseload as well as supporting the other Therapy staff of the team in the care of those referred to and accessing the service. The applicant will need to have experience of supporting people with physical disability. This post offers opportunity for those with an interest in technology to develop clinical skills in Electronic Assistive Technology. Many clients present with complex multi-pathologies and role includes developing an understanding of the impact of these conditions. This is an ideal post for an experienced Band 3 Rehabilitation Assistant looking to further develop their neurological rehabilitation skills or someone already working within a health or social care setting looking for a new challenge. This job will allow the successful applicant to work within a specialist neurological service with patients with a variety of neurological conditions. They will be able to work in collaboration with a variety of clinical specialists within the team alongside other rehabilitation assistants. Within the team there is a strong focus on personal and service development, and you will be given opportunities to participate in in-service training programme and external training where appropriate. The Hounslow Community Neuro Rehab Team (CNRT) is a client-centred, integrated multi-disciplinary team comprising of an Advanced Clinical Practitioner, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, a Neuro Psychologist, a Pharmacist, a Specialist Nurse practitioner, an Occupational Therapy Assistant and Rehab assistants. The Neuro-rehab teamworks across both intensive short-term rehab and longer-term rehab pathways. There are opportunities to develop skills in rapid assessment and facilitating discharge from hospital, long term condition management and specialist neuro-rehab. This role provides the opportunity to work across both rehabilitation pathways within the service, with both Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists. This role involves providing therapy for patients within their own home environments as well as the local community. There will be expectations for lone working and independent monitoring of patients progress with timely feedback to the MDT.
