The Digital Research Access Manager will provide strategic leadership, governance, and system-wide oversight to unlock the value of digital data for commercial clinical research across Sussex. Reporting to the CRDC Research Business Manager, the postholder will hold overall accountability for the design, integration, and delivery of transformational, scalable digital pathways that enable rapid, data-driven participant identification across multiple care settings. This role is key in enabling change in the way participants are identified for commercial clinical trials, improving speed and efficiency, whilst widening opportunities across our community. A core responsibility of this role is the direct leadership and line management of up to 4 Band 6 Digital Research Facilitators (funding is currently available for one post,with potential to expand to a maximum of 4 if additional funding is identified). The Manager will translate strategic regional research objectives into operational reality by guiding the Facilitators work program, removing complex cross-organisational data barriers, and fostering key relationships across the Integrated Care System(ICS) to streamline secondary and primary care workflows.The postholder will oversee the performance frameworks that ensure the team meets strict national metrics and will champion the strategic use of regional datasets to drive health equality and attract commercial investment. Main duties and responsibilitiesWork collaboratively with clinicians, managers, and external partners to deliver transformative and cost-effective changes which are fit for purpose and affordable. Maintain a clear understanding of how the services that support research delivery operate and the challenges they face in approving requests to support research within the required timeframe. To work with service managers to define optimal study set up pathways and supporting processes that are deliverable, sustainable, and meet national research delivery metrics. Drive, track, record, and share progress in delivering the NIHR commercial research delivery targets. Support the implementation of integrated services and pathway specific access to rapid diagnostic services locally through collaborative work across the Surrey and Sussex system and promote a sense of collective responsibility across partners Maximise research training across the system, by directing the identification and mapping of research training needs across all Sussex health care organisations and departments, ensuring equitable access to high-quality development opportunities. Respond quickly and appropriately to concerns regarding barriers to meeting government research set up metrics escalated by colleagues within the scope of the role, with a proactive and problem-solving approach to resolution of issues. Create a detailed work plan for the creation of pathways to increase the speed of research set up, with clear objectives, defined outputs and supporting action logs and risk logs for CRDC Management team sign off. Lead on the implementation of lean methodology and standardisation. Ball Tree Croft is a Care Quality Commission registered residential care home providing person-centred care and support for up to 15 people over the age of 18 who have a learning disability.
