About the Teams Mid Essex is at the centre of our county covering the Chelmsford, Braintree, Maldon and surrounding areas. It is a diverse locality to work in, bordering all other areas of the county and you will have the opportunity to work closely with colleagues across Essex County Council. This is also one of our most connected areas of the county, with excellent travel links including direct trains to London. We currently have several Social Worker opportunities across different teams within Mid Essex, this currently includes opportunities in the following teams: Physical & Sensory Impairments Team The Mid Essex Physical & Sensory Impairments team support people from eighteen years old with a wide range of conditions and difficulties including, Acquired Brain Injury, Multiple Sclerosis, Stroke (CVA), Huntingdon's Disease and Fibromyalgia. In our team share you will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team. We aim to support adults, and their families, who have complex social care and support needs and are more vulnerable as a result of disability, exclusion, or diminished capacity. We aim to safeguard and protect the adults that we work with balancing independence, control and being able to live as independent and a fulfilling life as possible. Older Adults Mental Health Team The Mid Essex Older Adults Mental Health Team works with adults aged 65 years plus, and their carers, who have been diagnosed with a functional or organic mental illness such as dementia, both in the community and developing discharge pathways from inpatient wards. The team work closely with mental health inpatient wards, advanced Dementia and Frailty Services and Social Care neighbourhood teams, managing the complexities of ongoing support and reablement for people who live with mental health needs. You will have the chance to support adults from the very start of their journey, to reviewing their goals and ambitions further into their social care journey ensuring that their assessed goals and outcomes continue to promote independence and opportunities. Neighbourhood Teams We are seeking a passionate and experienced Social Workers to join our Mid Essex Neighbourhood Teams. These are exciting opportunities to be part of a locality based, strengths focused service that supports adults to remain independent, safe, and connected within their communities. The teams work with people aged 18 and above across all specialisms, undertaking a wide range of duties under the Care Act 2014 from assessment, reviews, mental capacity assessments and adult safeguarding. As a Social Worker in our Neighbourhood Team, you will: Undertake Care Act‑compliant assessments, reviews, and support planning. Work with adults with a range of needs, including older people, physical disabilities, learning disabilities, mental health needs, and safeguarding concerns. Apply strengths‑based and person‑centred approaches to promote independence and wellbeing. Participate in safeguarding enquiries in line with Section 42 of the Care Act Work collaboratively with health colleagues, voluntary sector partners, and wider MDTs. Manage a varied caseload while maintaining professional standards and high‑quality practice. Team preference can be discussed at interview. About You We are looking for someone who: Is a qualified Social Worker (post ASYE) with current Social Work England registration. Veterinary Surgeon – Fixed Term Contract (Up to 12 Months) Full-Time | Essex | Salary up to £65,000 DOE | Visa Sponsorship Available An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic Veterinary Surgeon to join a friendly and supportive small animal practice in a thriving seaside town in Essex on a fixed-term contract for up to 12 months. This role is ideal for a vet with at least 12 months of UK veterinary experience who is looking to further develop their clinical skills within a busy, well-equipped veterinary practice supported by an experienced and welcoming team. The Role This full-time Veterinary Surgeon position offers an excellent work-life balance and includes: • A 4-day working week • Fixed days off for consistency and flexibility • 1 in 3 Saturdays • Participation in a shared out-of-hours (OOH) and Bank Holiday rota at a nearby sister 24-hour veterinary hospital • Minimal and well-supported OOH commitment • Access to a varied and busy caseload to support clinical development and confidence-building The Veterinary Team The successful Veterinary Surgeon will work alongside an experienced and supportive clinical team, including: • 2 experienced Veterinary Surgeons committed to mentoring and development • 5 Registered Veterinary Nurses (RVNs) • 5 Client Care Assistants (CCAs) This collaborative environment provides excellent peer support and opportunities to grow clinically. About the Role As a locum Consultant in Haematology, you'll provide expert care and contribute to the delivery of high-quality services. Responsibilities Provide expert clinical care for patients with malignant and non‑malignant haematological conditions in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Lead and manage haematology clinics, including new patient assessments, follow‑up reviews, and treatment planning. Oversee inpatient care on the haematology ward, offering senior clinical decision‑making, ward rounds, and multidisciplinary input. Participate in multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings, contributing specialist opinion on diagnosis, management, and treatment pathways. Interpret and report specialist haematological investigations, including blood films, bone marrow aspirates/biopsies, and coagulation studies. Support the delivery and governance of transfusion services, including management of complex transfusion cases and advice to clinicians. Provide on‑call haematology cover (as required), offering urgent advice for bleeding, clotting disorders, haemato‑oncology emergencies, and transfusion issues. Contribute to safe prescribing and monitoring of chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and other haematological treatments in line with local and national guidelines. Supervise and train junior medical staff, specialist nurses, and other members of the haematology team. Ensure accurate clinical documentation, coding, and communication with GPs and referring teams. Participate in clinical governance activities, including audit, incident review, morbidity/mortality meetings, and quality improvement. Engage in service development to support pathway improvements and maintain high standards of patient care. Maintain compliance with professional revalidation requirements and uphold the standards of the GMC and relevant specialty bodies.
