This is a consultant post in Acute Medicine created in order to help develop further expansion in provision of Acute Medical Care within the trust. Decontamination technicians are required to work within the Hospital Decontamination Hub, comprising of the Hospital Sterilisation and Disinfection Unit (HSDU), Endoscopy Decontamination and the Laundry Department. Endoscopy processing consists of receipt, pre clean, decontaminating and packing Endoscopes. In the Laundry you will work on modern industrial machinery to wash, dry, press and fold hospital linen. In the Sterile Linen Unit surgeon’s gowns, surgical drapes and wrap are washed, dried, inspected, folded and packed within a Clean Room. You will take part in cross-site working as required to meet the needs of the service. Full training and support will be provided. The successful candidate willbe responsible for the below; • Work in a team of nursing staff and clinicians, ensuring high standards of care are developed and maintained within that team. • Assist in the smooth running of the various clinics (includes preparing and setting up at the start of the day and closing the clinic rooms once clinics have finished). • To give and receive regular reports on the progress of patients, immediately acting on any changes in the patient’s condition, and reporting them to the relevant health care professional. • Assist clinicians during clinics, taking clinical photographs, and observations, chaperoning patients, helping patients with undressing/dressing and mobilisation.
