The successful post holder will supervise the administration team and be an effective member of the Department by providing a high standard of clerical services. As well as having excellent organisational, communication and interpersonal skills. The post holder will demonstrate excellent communication, operational and interpersonal skills. They will be responsible for supervising and managing staff, prioritising work, monitoring breach dates correctly and booking complex procedures for imaging in line with DM01 Diagnostic, 18-week referral to treatment and cancer targets. The post holder will work closely with clinicians, clinical leads and managers to ensure the delivery of the diagnostic pathways. Ward 38 provides high quality care for patients having Cardiac and Thoracic surgery, we care for patients who have stepped down from CITU, CCU, A & E, and also elective admissions. This position is a shift working role, internal rotation of shifts is ongoing, you will be expected to work weekends, bank holidays, late finishes. The successful candidates will be supported by both our nursing and medical team and essential training for the role will be provided. You must be able to communicate effectively with a wide range of healthcare professionals and be enthusiastic and passionate about the delivery of high-quality care. As a health care assistant within the team, your role will be assisting our patients with everyday tasks which involve maintaining a good oral intake, assisting with personal hygiene, and escorting patients to various procedures whilst also assisting both our medical and nursing teams to deliver treatment. In addition to providing essential nursing care, there will be a range of clinical skills you are expected to acquire to fulfil the role requirements, such as undertaking clinical observations and venepuncture (taking blood samples). All necessary training for acquiring these skills will be provided by the Trust. To provide high quality timely patient care to all patients, linking in with MDT colleagues.
